Best Christmas week events across the Space Coast

From dazzling light displays and festive concerts to Santa sightings, Brevard is brimming with holiday cheer this Christmas week.

Whether you want to hang 10 on the beach with Santa or catch a heartwarming show or concert, there’s something merry for everyone on the Space Coast between Dec. 19 and 25. Let’s unwrap the best ways to celebrate.

Due to potential changes and cancellations, we encourage you to check with presenting organizations about the status of their events.  

‘The Nutcracker’ in Cocoa Village

Experience the magic of the season with Galmont Ballet’s enchanting production of “The Nutcracker” at Cocoa VIllage Playhouse, 300 Brevard Ave., on Friday through Sunday, Dec. 19-21. Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, the performance transports viewers into a whimsical world where Clara’s dream unfolds with dancing snowflakes, battling mice, and the majestic Sugar Plum Fairy. ‘Hollywood Holidays’ concert on Merritt Island

Allengang Entertainment presents a holiday concert at the Merritt Island Moose Lodge #2073, 3150 N. Courtenay Pkwy., Merritt Island, on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. The lineup will include songs from favorite holiday movies. Tickets are $30 to $40. Call 407-252-3536 or visit showtickets.live.

‘Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol’ at Melbourne Civic Theatre

The play “Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol” will be at Melbourne Civic Theatre, 817 E. Strawbridge Ave., Melbourne, for three performances only on Dec. 19, 20 and 21. In Tom Mula’s four-person adaptation of the Christmas classic, Scrooge’s business partner Marley has one chance to escape a hellish eternity, but it will take a journey of laughter and terror, redemption and renewal. ‘Holiday Spectacular: Warm Wishes’ at the Henegar Center

The show “Holiday Spectacular: Warm Wishes” is at the Henegar Center, 625 E. New Haven Ave., Melbourne, Dec. 18 through 21. This musical extravaganza features live music, choir, vocalists, dancers and specialty acts sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Tickets are $42. Call 321-723-8698 or visit henegarcenter.com.

‘Dainty’s Holiday Extravaganza’ drag theater show in Melbourne

Arts for All Studio, 784 N. Apollo Blvd., Melbourne, presents “Dainty’s Super Spectacular Holiday Extravaganza,” a drag theater show, on Dec. 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. This campy, nostalgic show features electric dance numbers, live singing, and show-stopping drag performances. Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland at the King Center

Step into a world of enchantment as Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland brings its magical extravaganza to the King Center, 3865 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20. From awe-inspiring acrobatics to gravity-defying aerial feats, the show will deliver a heartwarming celebration of the season. Tickets start at $63. Visit kingcenter.com.

Kennedy Under the Stars: Holiday Edition

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Space Commerce Way, Merritt Island, hosts a special after-hours holiday experience on Dec. 19 and 20 starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy glowing mini golf, live entertainment, a holiday dance party, festive décor, and a brand-new holiday drone show that lights up the night sky. Downtown Melbourne candlelight shopping

Get in the holiday spirit by visiting downtown Melbourne along New Haven Ave. for special candlelight shopping from 4 to 8 p.m. every Saturday through Dec. 20. Shoppers can stroll the downtown streets, explore local boutiques and find the perfect gifts. Visit downtownmelbourne.com.

Holiday bike parade in Cocoa Village

The parade will be at Riverfront Park, 401 Riveredge Blvd., Cocoa, on Friday, Dec. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. This unique experience features holiday music and refreshments. Admission is free with a donation that benefits charity. Visit visitcocoavillage.com.

Christmas Extravaganza in Palm Bay

Join the Christmas party at Fred Poppe Regional Park, 1951 Malabar Road NW, Palm Bay, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20. Enjoy food, live entertainment, games, giveaways, pony rides, inflatables, rock walls and more. Local performers will showcase their skills at “Extravaganza’s Got Talent.” Admission is free. Jingle Bell 2 Miler in Satellite Beach

Jingle all the way down DeSoto Parkway and take a tour of the festive lights on Verbenia Court in Satellite Beach at this annual 2-mile run/walk. It starts at the Satellite Beach Public Library, 751 Jamaica Blvd, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20. The cost to participate is $35, or $20 for ages 12 and younger. Visit runsignup.com.

‘Saxophones for Christmas’ in Melbourne

The Adagio Sax Quartet presents an afternoon of holiday music at Harbor City Baptist Church, 2711 N. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Call 321-339-7705 or visit mmband.org.

Film screening: ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’

The 1946 classic film will be shown at Cocoa Village Playhouse, 300 Brevard Ave., Cocoa, on Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. In the film, an angel (Henry Travers) is sent from heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman (James Stewart) by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed. Surfing Santas in Cocoa Beach

Christmas Eve morning is Santa’s last chance to catch some waves before his big midnight sleigh ride, and hundreds of Santa-costumed surfers take part of this popular annual tradition in front of Coconuts on the Beach, at the end of Minuteman Causeway in Cocoa Beach. Admission is free, both for surfers and spectators. It will start at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 24. Visit surfingsantas.org for event updates.
