Best moments from Jack Black’s hosting gig on Apr. 4 [UPDATING]

With The Super Mario Galaxy Movie now playing in theaters, Jack Black returned to Saturday Night Live to host on April 4, alongside musical guest Jack White (the jokes write themselves). It was Black’s fifth hosting gig, and his seventh appearance overall (he hosted in seasons 27, 29, 31, and 50, and appeared as apart of the musical group Tenacious D in seasons 19 and 32). With this latest hosting stint, Black joins the illustrious SNL Five Timers Club, a cause for celebration:

Black is a three time Golden Globe nominee for his lead comedic performances in School of Rock (2003) and Bernie (2011), and for penning the song “Peaches” from the first Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023). After voicing Bowser, Black will next be seen in the upcoming sequels Jumanji 3 and Minecraft 2.
