Big Bang’s Taeyang to release 4th full-length album ‘Quintessence’ on May 18

 

Singer Taeyang of veteran K-pop group Big Bang will release his fourth full-length album “Quintessence” on May 18, his agency The Black Label said Tuesday.

 

This will be the singer’s first new music in three years since his second EP “Down to Earth” (2023) and his first new full-length album in nine years since “White Night” (2017).

 


 

“With his new album ‘Quintessence,’ Taeyang will once again prove his talents as a solo artist and present his world of music to listeners,” the agency said in a press release.

 

Taeyang debuted as a member of Big Bang in 2006 and is best known for the song “Eyes, Nose, Lips” (2014).

 

He held his first meet and greet with fans as a solo artist in July last year in seven cities, including Seoul and Tokyo.

 

He also performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, alongside his teammates G-Dragon and Daesung on April 12 and Sunday.

 

Big Bang also announced its plans to release an album to mark its 20th anniversary, along with a tour to begin in August. Specific plans have not been unveiled yet.

 

The band last held its Japanese Dome concert tour “Last Dance Tour” in 2017, while its last Asian tour was its 10th anniversary “BIGBANG10 THE CONCERT: 0.TO.10” all the way back in 2016 and 2017.
