Colombia continues to strengthen its position as one of the most important live music markets in Latin America. This is reflected in Billboard’s latest global Boxscore report, the publication’s leading concert industry tracking platform, which included two of the country’s top venues and Barranquilla-born superstar Shakira among the standout names in the global entertainment landscape.

The report, which analyzed the performance of tours, stadiums, and arenas between October 2025 and March 2026, highlights Colombia’s growing importance as a destination for major international events and as a platform for globally recognized artists. Both Medellín’s Atanasio Girardot Stadium and Bogotá’s Movistar Arena ranked among the world’s leading venues in their respective categories, while Shakira secured one of the highest positions among the most successful international tours of the period.

Shakira among the world’s most successful artists, according to Billboard

One of the most prominent names in the report was Shakira, whose Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour continues to deliver impressive results across multiple continents.

According to Billboard Boxscore data, the Colombian singer performed 25 concerts during the reporting period, attracting approximately 857,000 attendees and generating more than $110 million in ticket sales revenue. These figures earned her the fourth spot among the highest-grossing tours in the world.

In addition to ranking among the most profitable live productions in the industry, Shakira was recognized as the second most successful Latin tour globally and one of the artists who sold the highest number of tickets during the six-month period. The achievement further confirms the international relevance of the Barranquilla-born performer, who remains one of Latin music’s most influential figures and one of Colombia’s most recognizable cultural ambassadors worldwide.

Medellín and Bogotá gain ground on the global concert circuit

The report also highlighted the growth of Colombia’s live entertainment infrastructure. In the category for venues with capacities between 10,001 and 15,000 spectators, Bogotá’s Movistar Arena ranked 18th worldwide.

During the period analyzed, the venue hosted 30 events that attracted more than 266,000 attendees and generated approximately $17 million in revenue. These results established it as the leading venue in South America within its category, surpassing other regional arenas that have traditionally hosted major international tours.

Meanwhile, Medellín’s Atanasio Girardot Stadium ranked 13th among the world’s top stadium venues. Although it hosted fewer events, the four concerts held during the reporting period attracted approximately 175,000 spectators and generated close to $27.7 million in ticket revenue.

The figures underscore Medellín’s ability to host large-scale productions and demonstrate how the city has become a strategic stop for many of the world’s biggest touring acts visiting Latin America.

Colombia strengthens its role in the global music industry

The simultaneous presence of Shakira, Movistar Arena, and Atanasio Girardot Stadium in one of the music industry’s most influential reports is viewed by analysts as evidence of Colombia’s remarkable growth over the past decade.

Beyond ticket sales, major concerts generate economic activity across sectors such as tourism, hospitality, transportation, and gastronomy, creating an impact that extends far beyond the venues themselves.

The recognition from Billboard confirms that Colombia is no longer only a country that exports musical talent. It has also become a key market capable of attracting some of the world’s largest live productions, while artists like Shakira and world-class venues continue to position the country at the center of conversations shaping the global entertainment industry.
