Singer Billie Eilish reflected on an emotional full-circle moment after joining her longtime idol on stage during weekend two of Coachella
Billie Eilish is opening up about an emotional moment she experienced at Coachella over the weekend, after being brought on stage by her longtime idol Justin Bieber.
The 24-year-old singer joined Justin, 32, during his headline performance at the California music festival’s second weekend, which featured several surprise guest appearances. While artists including Big Sean, 38, Sexyy Red, 28, and SZA, all performed alongside him, it was Billie’s appearance that stood out as one of the night’s most talked-about moments.
Billie was watching the set from the crowd with Justin’s wife, Hailey Bieber, 29, when she was unexpectedly encouraged to go on stage. She joined Justin during a performance of One Less Lonely Girl, where he serenaded her in front of the audience.

The moment echoed their first meeting at the same festival in 2019, when Billie was still a teenager, and the experience appeared to be overwhelming for the singer, who later took to Instagram to share a close-up selfie and wrote, “can’t stop crying.”
The moment marked a full-circle experience for Billie, who is famously known as a huge JB fan. She has previously spoken about being a devoted listener of Justin growing up, even having posters of him covering her walls. Her parents once revealed that her connection to his music, particularly the As Long As You Love Me video, was so intense they briefly considered therapy.
Her mother, Maggie Baird, 67, also reflected on the moment in a post shared after the performance. Watching from the crowd alongside Billie’s brother Finneas, 28, Maggie described the experience as deeply meaningful for their family.
“One of the most touching moments ever,” she wrote. “It sounds crazy, but we watch our children develop these deep deep connections to artists who move them and usually there’s nothing in our power to do.
“But we buy them records and maybe buy them a ticket to a concert (or a movie of a concert in our case because we couldn’t afford to see an actual concert). Watching this crazy unimaginable dream come true over many years is so incredible. I’m so grateful to Justin Bieber for the kindness he has shown Billie and to our whole family and to Hailey who makes so many things wonderful and possible,” she finished.
Hailey also responded to the post, commenting, “so special” and “love you guys.”
Billie first met Justin at Coachella in 2019 when she was 17, and the two have remained close since. Over the years, Justin has taken on a supportive role in her career as she navigated the music industry at a young age.
Justin’s headline set during weekend two included multiple collaborations, with SZA joining him for Snooze, Sexyy Red for Sweet Spot, and Big Sean for performances of As Long As You Love Me and No Pressure.
The performance also included lighter moments, such as Justin singing along to a clip of himself as a young artist covering Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me a River. Compared to the previous weekend, he appeared more relaxed and energetic, even stepping into the crowd during Speed Demon.
At one point, Justin told the audience his “adrenaline is through the roof” and noted he might have trouble speaking clearly due to the chaos around him, though the crowd remained enthusiastic throughout.
