Billy Idol cut fresh takes on “White Wedding” and “Eyes Without A Face” live from Los Angeles.
Guitarist Steve Stevens joined the rocker for both tracks, bringing decades of history with him. Stevens had strummed on the 1982 original of “White Wedding” and later lent his skills to 1984’s “Eyes Without A Face.”
These recordings add to what’s been a banner 2026 for the punk-turned-rock icon. The American Music Awards handed him a Lifetime Achievement Award in May. “When I started out in punk rock back in 1976, we thought it may only last about six months — let alone 50 years,” he said while accepting, as per Yahoo.
This November, he’ll get into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This year’s class also features Oasis, Sade, Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan, and Joy Division/New Order.
Last month, the singer opened up about what “White Wedding” meant when he wrote it. “Well, ‘White Wedding’ was a bit of an anti-marriage song, but people get married to it,” he told People. “So, there you go. They changed that, the meaning of that.”
He went on: “It’s funny, but it’s great. I’m glad people have enjoyed it. Whatever they’ve used it for, I’m glad they’ve enjoyed the music and I’ve had a great time.”
Idol also held down a Las Vegas residency this year, popped up unannounced at Coachella, and released a documentary called Billy Idol Should Be Dead.
His It’s A Nice Day To… Tour Again! North American run starts August 7 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Shows continue through Sept. 27, closing out in Albuquerque. All upcoming live shows are listed on his website.
