Alexa Ray Joel has followed in her famous father’s footsteps with a career in music, and she has his full support.
Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley‘s daughter is two decades into a music career, but her latest single is quickly racking up views faster than any other song she’s shared on her official YouTube channel.
On Instagram, Joel shared a snippet of his daughter’s latest music video with his 1.2 million followers. In the caption, he wrote, “Congratulations to Alexa Ray Joel on her newest single, Riverside Way, reaching over 1 million views on the official music video on YouTube! ❤️ Watch it at the link in bio.”
The single, “Riverside Way,” was released last month. At the time of this writing, it has already been viewed more than 1.8 million times.
This is a breakthrough for the singer-songwriter, whose second-most-viewed song on her official YouTube page is called “Seven Years” and has managed to earn 642,000 views in the last four years. The third most viewed song was uploaded 15 years ago, and “Notice Me” definitely got her noticed with 552,000 views.
Alexa Ray Joel Opens Up About Famous Dad
Joel’s support isn’t surprising as the family continues to support each other in their work. In August, Alexa Ray spoke out in support of her famous father after his documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes, came out.
She shared that the two-part series was “really beautiful” and admitted that it made her cry.
“There was people messaging me saying that they were in tears. So let alone, for me, reliving my childhood years,” Alexa told People. “I think the world was very enchanted by my parents when they were together. They were like the ultimate dream couple.”
The documentary came out in July 2025, just months after the “Piano Man” singer shared his normal pressure hydrocephalus diagnosis. Both Alexa Ray and her mother, Christie Brinkley, shared messages to support him.
