BLACKPINK are officially gearing up for new music. On Monday (October 20), YG Entertainment confirmed that the quartet — JENNIE, LISA, JISOO, and ROSÉ — will begin filming the music video for their upcoming comeback this week, signaling that new material is just around the corner.
“BLACKPINK will start shooting a music video for a new song this week. To deliver the best results, both the members and staff will do their utmost until the end of the schedule,” YG said in a statement. The agency also teased the highly anticipated third album and expressed gratitude to fans, adding, “We thank all the fans who are waiting for BLACKPINK’s comeback. The album is in its final stage to achieve musical perfection. As soon as it’s ready, we’ll share the good news through official promotions.”

BLACKPINK’s most recent full-length album, Born Pink, was released in September 2022 and topped charts worldwide, solidifying the group as one of the most successful female acts in history. The album spawned global hits like “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down,” both of which topped the Billboard Global charts and earned widespread acclaim.
After nearly three years without a full group album, fans were thrilled when BLACKPINK returned last July with their new single “Jump.” The track became a worldwide phenomenon — debuting at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, and peaking at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. The achievement made BLACKPINK the first female K-pop group to score ten entries on the Hot 100. “Jump” also received three nominations at the upcoming 2025 MAMA Awards, including Song of the Year.
The music video announcement follows BLACKPINK’s ongoing Deadline World Tour, which recently resumed its Asian leg in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The sold-out performance drew tens of thousands of fans and featured refreshed solo stages from each member. LISA added new performances including “Thunder” and “When I’m With You,” JENNIE surprised fans by debuting “ExtraL” and “Starlight,” while JISOO updated her setlist with “Hugs & Kisses.”
