Blossoms have announced their sixth studio album, Songs From The Wedding Cake, which is set to arrive on October 2nd via ODD SK / Distiller Records. The Stockport lads will also be taking the album on a huge UK headline arena tour.
Additionally, the album’s fanfare comes alongside a brand new single, ‘Meet Me In Love’, and its music video, directed by Tom Ogden and starring Maya Jama and Callum Scott-Howells.
Following the release of recent single ‘Joke About Divorce’, ‘Meet Me In Love’ offers another glimpse into the world of Songs From The Wedding Cake, featuring an irresistible groove and backing vocals from ‘Brazil’ singer Declan McKenna.
Explaining where the track originated from, Ogden shared, “‘Meet Me In Love’ was written on a songwriting trip to the Lake District with Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire. As often happens, it was the last day and we’d pretty much accepted that there probably weren’t any more songs left to write.”
However, inspiration soon struck: “We started messing around with a simple two chord disco groove and, within a couple of hours, the whole thing seemed to fall into place.
Throughout five huge shows across the UK, Blossoms and support act The Royston Club will embark on the biggest tour of their career so far. They will kick things off in Cardiff on November 26th, before performing in London’s iconic Alexandra Palace and the huge Manchester Co-op Live arena.
In December, Blossoms will play Birmingham’s Utilita Arena and finish with a bang in Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.
