The announcement came with a teaser video featuring co-creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, along with executive producer Jane Wu. In the clip, Michael Green stated, “When we first see Mizu at the top of Season 2, she’s breaking in somewhere to kill someone,” while Noizumi emphasized, “Mizu’s journey remains the same. Revenge is her religion.”
The featurette also showed early footage, with Mizu wielding her sword, indicating the timeline of events. According to the creators, the upcoming season will continue Mizu’s revenge quest as she travels to London, where “at least two of the men she’s out to kill are” located.
Season 2 brings back key characters including the Swordmaker, Taigen, Ringo, and Akemi. Netflix confirmed the series is “now in production” but has not announced a release date, though earlier projections pointed to 2026.

The creative team said Season 2 will refine its action sequences with a philosophy closer to live-action filmmaking.
