Town of Webb Historical Association Summer Speaker Series
5 p.m. on July 9 at the Old Forge Library
The Old Forge Library will host the host the Town of Webb Historical Association Local History and Stories Series on Thursdays throughout the summer. Each week, the free series will feature a different speaker presenting and leading discussions on a variety of topics related to local and regional history. Community members and visitors are invited to attend, ask questions, and share stories of their own.
The series opens July 9 with Denise Silfee of the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation. Prior to the evening presentation, Silfee will lead a special children’s program from 4-4:45 p.m. for ages 5–12, focused on loon conservation and lead-free fishing practices.

Ballard Park Summer Concert Series begins
7 p.m. on July 9 at Ballard Park in Westport
The Summer Concert Series in Westport begins with Myra Flynn and her band playing lyrical, soulful songs. Summer concerts are scheduled for July 9, 16, 23 and 30 and Aug. 6, 13 and 20.

Music by the Lake: Rocky & the Moosemen
6-8 p.m. on July 10 at the Long Lake Town Beach
Led by well-known local frontman Eric Peter, this five-piece group is an American rock ‘n’ roll cover band that specializes in music from the 60s. Coolers and lawn chairs are welcome.
Ride for the River
July 11 and 12 at Lake Everest Beach in Wilmington
Known as the most spectacular ride in the Adirondacks, Ride for the River has been supporting the conservation work of the Ausable Freshwater Center since 2011. Featuring multiple route options, the event also hosts a 20-mile “tailgater” group ride on July 11 for those who’d like to come into town a day or two early to make it a weekend.
This annual fundraiser directly supports the work of the Ausable Freshwater Center to protect the clean waters, healthy streams, biodiverse habitats and scenic beauty of the Ausable River watershed.

49th annual Mayor’s Cup Regatta
9:30 a.m. on July 11 at the Plattsburgh City Beach
The Sunrise Rotary Club of Plattsburgh is hosting the 49th annual Mayor’s Cup Regatta & Festival at the Plattsburgh City Beach and the Plattsburgh City Marina. Join for a day of beach activities, a poker run, paddle boat parade, corn hole tournament and a free concert.
The Wild Center celebrates 20 years with community party and concert
10 a.m.-7 p.m. on July 11 at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake
The Wild Center invites the public to celebrate two decades since its opening with a day-long celebration featuring live music, family-friendly activities and special anniversary experiences.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Martin Sexton will headline the celebration, returning to The Wild Center where he also performed during its opening year in 2006. Sexton is known for his soulful voice, genre-blending sound and powerful storytelling.
Antique and classic boat show
10 a.m.-2 p.m. on July 11 at the Old Forge waterfront
The Adirondack Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society and LivingADK are again hosting this free, annual event with boats on display until 2p.m., followed by a boat parade up the First Lake Channel led by the Old Forge Fire Department.
Vintage boats or all types from the early 1900s to the contemporary classics will be on display. Leashed pets welcome. Visitors can expect food, music, free boat rides and more.
Chestertown Summerfest
3 p.m. on July 11 at the Chester Town Hall in Chestertown
Chestertown celebrates Summerfest with live music, food trucks, artisan vendors, bounce houses, face painting, games and activities for all ages. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. and continue through dusk for a fireworks display.
Elizabethtown filmmaker speaks at Crandall Public Library
6 p.m. on July 13 at Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls
Filmmaker Aaron Woolf will speak at Crandall Public Library as part of the “Let’s Talk” Monday Night Film Forum series. The film being presented is “King Corn,” directed and produced by Woolf. This film had a strong environmental impact when shown in 2007 and continues to be relevant today.
Adirondack Garden Club to screen Netflix documentary “Plastic Detox”
5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall in Essex
The Adirondack Garden Club will host a screening of “Plastic Detox,” a Netflix documentary examining how microplastics and hormone-disrupting chemicals affect human health. Admission is free and open to the public.
The documentary follows six couples struggling with unexplained infertility as they attempt to remove plastic from their daily lives over three months. The screening will be followed by a discussion and question-and-answer session featuring special guest speaker Jody Villecco, an industry pioneer in consumer health, safer chemicals and product transparency.
Lake George Lobster & Seafood Fest
5-7 p.m. on July 14 at the Lakeside Restaurant in Lake George
Fort William Henry will host the Lake George Lobster & Seafood Fest featuring fresh steamed lobster, classic lobster bake favorites, live music by Lug Nut 2.0 and a full cash bar offering local craft beer and cocktails.
