Normal, Bob Odenkirk’s upcoming action movie, officially has a release date, with Magnolia Pictures revealing when the film from John Wick’s creator comes out.
When does the new Bob Odenkirk action movie come out?
According to Magnolia Pictures, Normal is set to release on April 17, 2026. The film, which comes from director Ben Wheatley and John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, stars Odenkirk as a sheriff who finds himself thrown into the fray after a botched bank robbery sends a quiet town into chaos.
Alongside Odenkirk, Normal also stars Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod. The film was written by Kolstad, with Odenkirk also getting a “story by” credit on the film. Producers on the project include Marc Provissiero, Kolstad, and Odenkirk.
“For Sheriff Ulysses (Odenkirk), his provisional posting to the quaint Midwestern American town of Normal was meant to be a welcome respite from both his marital woes and recent moral injuries in the line of duty,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “But when a botched bank robbery interrupts the municipality’s tranquil pace, a dark secret is inadvertently exposed, and Ulysses soon discovers that the town is anything but its namesake.”
Odenkirk is no stranger to action movies over the past few years. After enjoying a legendary acting career, Odenkirk broke out into the world of action movies with 2021’s Nobody, which received a sequel in 2025.
