Jack Nicklaus explains his reasoning for naming Muirfield Village Golf Club during a press conference prior to the Memorial Tournament on May 27.

  • Rise Brands has canceled its plans to redevelop The Bogey Inn property into a large entertainment campus.
  • The company’s CEO stated the project was not feasible at the Dublin location due to significant site-related hurdles.
  • The proposed three-acre destination was set to include bars, live entertainment, and a 36-hole putting course.

Plans to transform the historic Bogey Inn property into a sprawling entertainment campus are no longer moving forward, according to Rise Brands’ newly appointed CEO.

Rise Brands has scrapped its proposal to redevelop The Bogey Inn site at 6013 Glick Road in Dublin into a 3-acre entertainment destination, a project first unveiled in early 2025, by Rise founder Troy Allen.

Hana Hesselgesser, who stepped into her role as CEO of Rise Brands in January, confirmed the decision to scrap the golf concept to The Dispatch. She said the envisioned project was not feasible at the Bogey Inn location.

Hesselgesser said the company encountered significant hurdles tied to the site.

The property spans multiple municipal jurisdictions, and Rise Brands spent “a great deal” of time and money working to finalize site improvements before concluding its business model would not work there, she said.

“It was disappointing and remains disappointing for us,” Hesselgesser said. “However, I’m excited about the potential of bringing in a golf-related concept under the Rise Brands umbrella and into our family so that we also have that lever and something to utilize there.”

What had been planned for the Bogey?

The project, initially announced in January 2025, called for a three-acre entertainment campus featuring indoor and outdoor bars, live entertainment and various food options. Plans also included a 36-hole putting course − 27 outdoor holes and nine covered holes − along with a covered bar.

Rise Brands, known for local concepts such as Pins Mechanical Co. and 16-Bit Bar + Arcade, released renderings of the redevelopment about a year ago as part of its vision for reimagining the longtime sports bar property.

Rise’s plan had called for the redeveloped Bogey Inn open during the 2026 Memorial Tournament in June. The Glick Road property is very close to Muirfield Village Golf Club and has hosted Memorial parties even in the years since the Bogey Inn shuttered.

It is unclear what the future holds for the site.
