Bologna, 10-12 July: 10 unmissable events

The city comes alive with cultural and entertainment offerings: concerts, open-air film programs, city events and family activities. Here is a curated list of the weekend’s main highlights.

Fuego! (10-12 July) – Three days celebrating Latin American music at DiMondi, featuring live bands and Latin cuisine; line-up includes Chilean and Cuban ensembles and electro-acoustic acts.
Open-air cinema – Programs in Piazza Maggiore and at the Modernissimo: Friday 10 pays tribute to Michael Cimino, Saturday 11 a tribute to Gianfranco Rosi, Sunday 12 a Nolan focus and a night on New Citizens.
Streets Kart 2026 (11-12 July) – Castiglione dei Pepoli’s historic centre becomes a city circuit for the 2nd round of the National City Circuits Trophy Area North; Saturday features shows and a tribute to Alex Zanardi, Sunday hosts timed qualifiers and finals.
Ferrabosco Project (10 July, 16:00) – Final concert at Museo San Colombano by the Early Music Department of the G.B. Martini Conservatory, spotlighting a Bolognese family of Renaissance and early Baroque musicians.
Bologna Estate – A broad summer program across neighbourhoods with park performances, cloister concerts, guided visits and free activities; highlights include Piazza Maggiore screenings and Cinema Ritrovato events.
