Brandon Blackston’s daughter, Savannah Blackstock Lee, shared that she was pregnant a month before her father’s death.
The 23-year-old Florida-based realtor shared the news on Instagram that she was expecting her second child with husband Quentin Lee. The two share their first child, three-year-old son Lake, together.
“We’ve been keeping a couple sweet surprises,” Savannah wrote on her Instagram, per PEOPLE, which is currently private. “One little girl will be making her arrival at the beginning of January and another beautiful girl named Julianna who has already been one of the greatest blessings to our family.”
She went on to thank the Lord for being so “so faithful.”
“He’s written a story we never could’ve imagined, and His kindness in this season has left us in awe,” she continued, adding a white heart emoji. “He’s answered prayers we never even knew how to pray. This journey has been so special full of peace, excitement, and so much grace. We’re growing again, and our hearts are so full. Thank you, Jesus.”
Savannah is Brandon’s daughter with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth. The couple was married from 2001 to 2012 and they also share another child, son Seth. Following his split from Melissa, the late talent manager ended up dating Kelly Clarkson in February 2012 and then marrying her in October 2013. Brandon and Kelly share two children together: daughter River, 11 and son Remington, 9. The pair divorced in June 2020 and it was finalized in March 2022.
This all comes as Brandon’s death was announced on Thursday, August 7, following Kelly’s announcement that she was postponing her Las Vegas residency because Brandon was ill. In a statement by a family representative, they said, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years.”
“He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time,” the statement continued.
On Wednesday, August 6, the Behind These Hazel Eyes singer took to her Instagram to share the news of the cancellation of her residency. She wrote, “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
Kelly went on to apologize to fans who bought tickets and thanked them for their “grace, kindness, and understanding.”
