Bruce Springsteen gives teary dedication at new Monmouth U center

Braxton Keith is laying down a traditional country heartbreaker, and it’s just what the doctor ordered for this New Music Friday.

The Texas native is one of the most promising names coming up on the scene these days. He was a music-making machine in 2025, gifting fans with numerous singles like “Wind Blows,” “Baby You Do,” “Bye In Goodbye,” and his collaboration with fellow Texas honky tonker Randall King for “Cheatin’ On My Honky Tonk.” Keith also gifted fans with two additional songs during the fall, the honky tonk heartbreaker “Prescription” and a stellar cover of George Strait’s “The Chair.”

The Texas native kept that roll going in 2026, having already released a few singles this year. Today, Braxton Keith gifted fans with another new single, “Little Bit By Little Bit,” following the success of his viral single “I Own This Bar.” Both will be featured on his upcoming album, Real Damn Deal, set for release on May 15th. With a flashy name like that for the title of Keith’s debut record, he has to prove to fans that he can walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Thankfully, with the previous EPs and singles that he’s released, he’s proved his neotraditional sound is the real damn deal, and so have the singles he’s released thus far from the LP.

Today, he’s continuing to tease fans with what’s in store for the record, dropping a heartbreaking ballad titled “Don’t No More.”

“‘Don’t No More’ is one of my favorite songs, it’s one of those story songs that you can close your eyes and see the whole storyline playing out vividly. Sad songs are just such a big part of what country music is to me. It’s a lot of telling the truth.”

Keith shared.

Leaning heavily into telling a complete story in this tune, Keith laments heartbreak, playing it back in his mind: how a former lover left him. He replays items of his that she possesses and memories they shared, hoping she thinks fondly of him, but knowing that’s just a lie he’s telling himself. The song captures the essence of a classic country heartbreaker that hurts more as time goes on.

“I let her steal my cowboy hat
She wore it all the time
I like to think when she slips it off
She remembers it was mine
But she don’t no more, no she don’t no more

I felt the walls shake when she slammed that door
She flung her diamond ring
Off the front of that porch
She picked a hell of a week to let me know
That she’s pretty damn good at lettin’ things go”

Produced by Alex Torrez and David Dorn, the song captures the essence of looking back on an intense love, whether a young love or a true first love, and captures that heartbreak still hurts no matter how much time has passed. Keith carries a somber twang as he delivers the vocals, conveying his incredible ability to make every word he sings feel like one he’s lived.

Ironically, Braxton Keith’s love life couldn’t be going better, as he and his longtime girlfriend, Olivia Rose Taylor, announced they got engaged earlier this week.

So while it feels like these lyrics might be fictionalized, it still tells a story that is real, damn, heartbreak. Turn it all the way up.
