Released in 1999, The Mummy introduced Brendan Fraser as Rick O’Connell and Rachel Weisz as Evelyn, two characters who returned in 2001’s The Mummy Returns. Only Fraser reprised his role for 2008’s critically lambasted The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, however, with Maria Bello replacing Weisz as Evelyn.
