“Only Murders in the Building” recently welcomed a slew of new stars for its upcoming sixth season.
Among the stars joining the Hulu series’ stellar cast is Nicola Coughlan, who broke into the stratospheric stardom after her starring role as Penelope Featherington in “Bridgerton” Season 3.
For the upcoming season, the mystery-solving trio of Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) are going out of the United States for the first time to dabble in investigation in London.

For their UK sojourn, it was revealed that several other stars, including David Tennant, Jodi Whittaker, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis and Kathryn Hunter are joining apart from the Irish actress.
The new members will be joining the existing cast of Martin Freeman, Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Matthew Beard, Sharon Horgan, Rhea Norwood, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Jamie Demetriou, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi and Lesley Nicol.
The latest additions to the cast inevitably got the attention of the fans who lauded the move online.
One of the social media users said, “At this point Only Murders is collecting celebrity cameos faster than actual mystery plots..”
“Only Murders is heading to London, and the cast is absolutely stacked,” said someone else.
Another fan noted, “What an incredible casting choice!”
“doctor who meets bridgerton in the arconia, what a timeline,” said someone else referring to Tennant’s role as Tenth Doctor and Fourteenth Doctor from “Doctor Who.”
“Amazing. Can’t wait for a season based over this side of the water,” celebrated another.
Apart from her starring portrayal of Penelopein all four seasons of “Bridgerton,” Coughlan has also starred in hit teen sitcom, “Derry Girls,” “Big Mood” among others. Recently she appeared in “The Magic Faraway Tree,” and will be headlining the fourth season of Channel 4 series, “I Am.”
Meanwhile, Gomez has been starring in the Primetime Emmy nominated drama since 2021, where she, along with Martin and Short, plays a trio of strangers connecting over their shared interests in solving crimes. Filming for the upcoming season has reportedly begun in London in May.
