Brooke Shields has landed a new hosting gig.
The beloved actress has been named the host of “Hearts of Heroes,” an award-winning television show that tells stories of first responders, military members, and others who risk their lives to save others.
““This series is about spotlighting life-saving information in a way that is impactful and memorable,” Bryan Curb, HMPG executive vice president and general manager, education/information (E/I), said in a statement, per Variety. “We’re looking forward to having Brooke join Sheldon in telling these important stories.”
Throughout the show’s run, they have featured more than 750 first responders and rescuers. It also has featured more than 220 stories involving extreme weather conditions, while also showcasing reunions between friends and families with their rescuers.
The show has earned a Parents’ Choice Award, a Daytime Emmy® nomination, and 63 international Telly Awards during its run.
“Recognizing the heroism of our first responders is a lifelong passion for me and it’s humbling to be able to shine a spotlight on them,” returning contributor Sheldon Yellen said in a statement. “And we are grateful for our partners at HMPG who have helped provide an ideal platform to highlight these extraordinary men and women every weekend on ABC stations nationwide.”
Shields will be taking over for previous host Ginger Zee. The show returns for Season 8 on Saturday, July 11. She currently stars in the Acorn TV series You’re Killing Me and returned to Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart. She is also the founder and CEO of Commence.
