When Fox and Fremantle set up an open casting call last month for their “Baywatch” redux, more than 2,000 hopefuls hit the beach.
Among that number were Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooks Nader, a Baton Rouge native, and former national championship-winning LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne.
Now, the southern California-set lifeguard drama will have a Louisiana touch as Nader, 29, is joining the show as series regular Selene, and Dunne, 23, in a recurring role as Grace.
Nader and her three sisters — Sarah Jane, Grace Ann and Mary Holland — starred last year in the Freeform docuseries “Love Thy Nader,” which followed their careers and personal lives in New York City.
This marks Dunne’s first acting role, although she has been featured in ad campaigns, including for Fanatic Sportsbook and Vuori performance apparel.
Shay Mitchell, Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone and Noah Beck also have been cast in the new series. David Chokachi will reprise his role as Cody Madison from the original 1989-2001 series.
In 2017, Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson starred in a ‘Baywatch” feature film.
The new “Baywatch’s” 12-episode first season is scheduled to premiere during the 2026-’27 season.
