With a chant of “ICE Out Now!” Bruce Springsteen wasted no time condemning Donald Trump and the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal agents in Minnesota.
In classic form from the the card carry anti-MAGA rock legend, the 4:35 minute-long Streets of Minneapolis calls out “King Trump and his private army from the DHS.”
“I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis,” Springsteen said on social media Wednesday morning with his ‘Streets of Minneapolis’ song – which you can hear here:
The Boss added: “It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free, Bruce Springsteen.”
Having decried the former Apprentice host’s return to power repeatedly over the past year on and off-stage, Springsteen’s words and music today join a chorus of big name outrage against ICE tactics in the northern state and throughout the nation. In the hours and days after 37-year-old ICU Nurse Pretty was killed on January 24 due to multiple ICE gunshots for trying to help a woman federal agents were shoving at a Minneapolis intersection, Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Joe Biden have all lamented that “violence and terror have no place in the United States of America, especially when it’s our own government targeting American citizens,” as the 46th POTUS wrote online on January 27
