Bruce Willis’ ex-wife Demi Moore stepped out on Wednesday, Nov. 5 to attend an FTD gala in New York City. Moore was at the Soho Sessions’ special event, which raised money for the non-profit organization, The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, according to the Daily Mail.
Per the report, the event was held “in celebration of our friend Bruce Willis,” per its official flyer. Moore was joined by Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, who has been instrumental in ensuring that he’s gotten the proper care since his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in 2023.
Other Willis pals were also in attendance, including Kevin Bacon, his wife Kyra Sedgwick, Whoopi Goldberg, and Michael J Fox.
Since their split in 1998, Moore and Willis have maintained a close friendship, bonded for life because of their three daughters; Rumer, Tallulah and Scout. Moore has continuously shown her support for Willis and for Heming Willis since her ex’s health stated to decline.
In September, Moore was a guest on The Oprah Podcast where she spoke about Heming Willis.
“I have so much compassion for Emma in this, being a young woman,” Moore said. “There’s no way that anybody could have anticipated where this was going to go. And I really think she’s done a masterful job. She has been so dedicated to forging the right path. She’s had equal amounts of fear and strength and courage in navigating this.”
“It’s hard to see somebody who was so vibrant and strong and so direct shift into this other part of themselves,” Moore continued. “But my particular perspective is, one, I really always say it’s so important just to meet them where they’re at. Don’t have an expectation of them needing to be who they were or who you want them to be. And when you do that, I find that there is an incredible sweetness and something that’s soft and tender and loving. Perhaps it is more playful and childlike in a certain sense because of how much more caretaking they need.”
Since his diagnosis, Willis’ condition has gotten worse. In September, Heming Willis shared that her husband lives in a separate home where he receives the care that he needs in a safe environment which is best for him and their family.
