First responders reportedly took Gumbel, 77, from his Manhattan apartment on a gurney around 9 p.m. before he was transported to emergency medical facilities via ambulance. He remains in hospital care as of Tuesday.
While there were no details about the nature of his health scare, his family told TMZ he is doing “okay.”

The legendary broadcaster has dealt with serious medical issues in the past, previously contending with lung cancer in 2009.
Gumbel was a mainstay on NBC’s morning lineup, anchoring the “Today” show from 1982 to 1997.
He was also the host of HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” until his retirement in 2023.
