Buckingham Palace previously received information about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s alleged wrongdoings, one Jeffrey Epstein victim claims.
The Lord Chamberlain — the most senior officer of the royal household — allegedly received 30,000 emails in 2020, some of which include evidence that Andrew, now 66, shared confidential information with the convicted sex offender while acting as a U.K. trade envoy from 2001 to 2011. A recent BBC report claims that the emails were taken from a personal business contact of the disgraced royal family member.
“Since there is an ongoing police enquiry concerning Mr Mountbatten-Windsor, it is not possible to provide any comment on these matters,” Buckingham Palace told the BBC over the weekend.
Former dancer Jess Michaels, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Epstein, discussed the allegations against the palace in a statement to The Telegraph.
“Six years ago, the palace knew Andrew wasn’t just a problem: he could face a criminal investigation. And they sat on it,” she alleged. “Virginia Giuffre was telling the truth, and she didn’t live to see them admit it. That breaks my heart, and it should break everyone’s.”
Andrew was previously accused of sexually assaulting the late Virginia Giuffre when she was underage. They settled outside of court in 2022 after Giuffree sued Andrew for sexual abuse. He has continued to deny the allegations. (Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025.)
“This is what institutions do,” Michaels added. “They protect powerful men and leave the people they harmed to carry it.”

Andrew was arrested at his Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, this past February. The Thames Valley Police confirmed that he was taken into custody on “suspicion of misconduct in public office.”
“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” King Charles III said in a statement, obtained by Us Weekly, at the time. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation.”
Prior to the arrest, the police department confirmed to the BBC that they had been looking into allegations that Andrew had shared information with late billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as U.K. trade envoy.

Last month, the Thames Valley Police confirmed that the investigation against Andrew had expanded to include allegations of sexual misconduct.
“In addition to the investigation into misconduct in public office, the assessment of reports that a woman was taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for sexual purposes is ongoing,” the police department said in a statement released on May 22.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that they had “engaged with the woman’s legal representative” as the statement continued.
“Should she wish to report this to police, it will be taken seriously and handled with care, sensitivity and respect for her privacy and her right for anonymity,” the authorities added. “We recognize how difficult it can be to speak about experiences of this nature, and any contact with police will be led by her wishes, when and if she feels ready and able to do so.”
The statement noted that the Thames Valley Police is working with U.K.’s Crown Prosecution Service and the United States Department of Justice. Authorities said they are “examining a number of aspects of alleged misconduct” which had been stated in the Epstein Files.
