Caesars Entertainment Inc., which describes itself as the largest gaming company in the United States, disclosed a data breach that affected 44,023 Washington residents, 16 Massachusetts residents and one Maine resident.
The company discovered the breach on April 19, 2026. On Feb. 23, 2026, Caesars identified suspicious activity in certain cloud-hosted platforms that the company uses to store personal data.
A review found that the breach had compromised records stored in the affected cloud-hosted platforms, exposing personal information such as names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or Washington state ID card numbers, full dates of birth and passport numbers.
Caesar’s began notifying affected individuals by written letter on May 19, 2026.
Caesars Entertainment’s response to the breach
Caesars is providing two years of complimentary identity theft protection services through IDX, a data breach and recovery services expert. The IDX service includes credit monitoring, dark web monitoring, a $1 million insurance reimbursement policy and fully managed identity restoration services.
To activate these free services, affected individuals should visit the IDX enrollment page and enter the personal enrollment code that was included in their notification letter. The deadline to enroll is Aug. 19, 2026.
