You can add Caleb Hearon’sname to the list of celebrities who despise ICE. The controversial government agency has drawn widespread criticism for its actions throughout this year. Among them was killing two people in Minneapolis, including a mother named Renee Nicole Good. She was shot dead by ICE agents after being deemed a domestic terrorist.
Caleb made a big statement on The Devil Wears Prada 2 Red Carpet. The actor and comedian wore an anti-ICE pin in protest of the group.
The comedian spoke out against those paid “to terrorize our communities”
Another big upcoming movie premiere is being used as a platform to fight back against the Donald Trump administration. Caleb is the latest celebrity to speak out, expressing his disgust that, in his view, “people can’t afford groceries and the rent continues to go up.” He adds that the fact that despite all of this we’re paying groups like ICE to “terrorize our communities. He says that “it makes me absolutely sick.”
ICE’s actions sparked numerous protests in Minneapolis earlier this year. Many celebrities are speaking out against ICE. At the Golden Globe Awards in January, many noteworthy celebrities wore Be Good pins, a movement against ICE. Wanda Sykes and Mark Ruffalo were among the two advocating against them.
In the past, the likes of Matt Damon protested ICE, with the Oscar-winning writer doing so ahead of the release of RIP. Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel was spotted in February at an anti-ICE protest with his wife. Meanwhile, the likes of Pedro Pascal and Madonna previously signed open letters against ICE.
For his part, Caleb is out promoting the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. He plays Charlie in the new movie, an assistant to Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Meryl Streep. It comes out in theatres across the US on May 1.
