Callum Turner responds to James Bond rumors in Berlin
Might Callum Turner be the next James Bond or not? He responded to the question at last.
During his appearance at the press conference for his new film, Rosebush Pruning at the Berlin Film Festival, journalists asked him if he would be James Bond or not, noting that it could be good to “get it out of the way.”
“You’re right, it’s very early for that question,” Turner stated with a slim smirk. “I’m not going to comment on it.”
The 35-year-old British actor, who’s been speculating as Denis Villeneuve, preps his first Bond movie for Amazon, keeps the answer low-key but teasing enough.
Meanwhile, Turner’s co-star, Tracy Letts, shifted the focus as he added that he will be the next James Bond, receiving a roar of laughter from the room.
“I’m sorry, I’m the next James Bond!” Turner replied, as the crowd laughed. “Tracy, I thought you weren’t going to say anything.”
Bond came up again moments later when director Karim Aïnouz was asked what a 007 film under his direction would look like. Letts quickly stepped in, joking that Aïnouz was helming “my James Bond.”
