Actress Candace Cameron Bure is honoring the 38th anniversary of Full Housewith her Instagram followers.
People magazine reported that Cameron Bure took to her Instagram account in celebration of the big milestone on September 22. The actress uploaded several of the show’s stills, some promotional images, and rare behind-the-scenes pictures taken during the ABC sitcom’s 8-season run, which ended in 1995.
One picture showed Cameron Bure and the late actor Bob Saget, who played her character, DJ Tanner’s father, Danny Tanner, posing together. She also included a photo of her at the entrance of Disneyland with Andrea Barber, who played DJ’s best friend and neighbor Kimmy Gibbler,Jodie Sweetin, who played Danny’s middle daughter, Stephanie, and either Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen, who took turns playing Michelle Tanner. Other pictures included Sweetin with her arms around Cameron Bure and Barber, Lori Loughlin, who played DJ’s aunt Becky, holding one of the Olsen twins, and Barber standing with all the Tanner sisters in front of a Christmas tree. The final slide was an emotional video message from Saget, wherein he expressed gratitude for Cameron Bure’s friendship and support.
In the caption of the post, Cameron Bure shared she was thankful she got to play her Full House character. As fans are aware, the mother of three reprised the role of DJ in the 2016 reboot, Fuller House, which aired for five seasons.
“38 years since we first met the Tanners?? Oh, Mylanta!! What a beautiful journey filled with laughter, lessons, and lots and lots of love… #FullHouse was my childhood, my family, my home. Forever grateful,” read the caption.

Candace Cameron Bure Shared Details About Meeting Bob Saget
During a May 2024 appearance on Full House star Dave Coulier‘s podcast, Full House Rewind, Cameron Bure recalled being cast on the sitcom when she was 10 years old. She explained that she was used to the filming environment because her brother, Kirk Cameron, was starring as Mike Seaver on Growing Pains, which premiered in 1985.
The 49-year-old noted that she originally filmed the show’s unaired pilot with actor John Posey playing Danny. She then said she met Saget when the cast had to reshoot scenes for the first episode. According to The Heart of Christmas star, she was impressed by Saget’s immediate kindness. She shared that after he introduced himself, he asked her to let him know how he could make her feel as comfortable as possible.
“What also stands out is that he said to me, ‘If there’s anything I can do to be helpful or make you feel more comfortable, will you please let me know?’ It was so nice,” said Cameron Bure during the podcast interview.
Saget died at the age of 65 in 2022.
