See Pizza Spinello owner John D’Aponte make pizza in Wellfleet
Authentic Roman-style pizza is the name of the game at Pizza Spinello in Wellfleet
- New cocktail and tapas spots have opened in Falmouth and Provincetown.
- The Rebel Room, a Prohibition-era themed bar, has replaced Bangkok Thai in Falmouth.
- Ciro & Sal’s in Provincetown has added a late-night venue called “The Back Door.”
- Cafe Grounded, a new coffee and juice spot, is now open on Main Street in Falmouth.
In Cape Cod restaurant news this week, there are new places to socialize over cocktails, bites and music in Falmouth and Provincetown.
Also in Falmouth, meet Cafe Grounded, “where every cup tells a story,” according to the coffee and juice spot’s social media.
In case you missed it, last week we wrote about Forbes four-star rated Cuvee Bistro in Chatham starting brunch service, while Heart of the Sea added Latin dishes to its second location in Harwich.
Also, reporter Denise Coffey visited Pizza Spinello in Wellfleet and learned to make pizza.
The Rebel Room evokes Prohibition era
The spot that was Bangkok Thai at 291 Main St. in Falmouth is now The Rebel Room, a cocktails and tapas place run by the owners of Devour Eatery, Aanjes and Hollis Hershfield.
The gathering spot – dare we say speakeasy – opened in early July, two months after Falmouth selectmen approved an all-alcohol and entertainment license.
Ciro & Sal’s opens The Back Door in Provincetown
Ciro & Sal’s is a fixture in Provincetown: Now they’ve added an 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. option restaurant owners are calling, in their social media videos, “The Back Door.”
The spot above and behind the restaurant offers craft cocktails and a schedule of local musicians including well-known names like Lily Mae Harrington. Don’t worry about getting lost: a lighted pathway leads the way to Ciro & Sal’s new spot.
Keeping yourself grounded with specialty coffees
In other news from Falmouth’s Main Street, Cafe Grounded is open at 281 Main St. with a menu that features specialty drinks including a maple-shaken espresso for $6.50.
We can’t argue with Cafe Grounded’s philosophy: A social media photo shows a neon sign spelling out “But first coffee.”
