Law enforcement officers have seized a car and a camera from Nancy Guthrie’s home following her recent disappearance.
Nancy, who is the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1, after she failed to turn up to her usual Sunday morning church service. Upon arriving at her home in Tucson, Arizona, police found blood on her front door and signs of forced entry, leading officers to believe she was abducted from the $1 million residence.
The mom of three has not been seen since the previous night after she had dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her son-in-law, Tommasco Cioni, with the latter dropping Nancy back at her home that evening.
Following Nancy’s disappearance, two ransom notes have been sent to the media, with the second one coming hours before law enforcement flooded the 84-year-old’s home, seizing her car and one of her rooftop cameras.
Forensic FBI teams could be seen inspecting Nancy’s roof, discovering a camera that had been missed in previous searches. A dark SUV was then towed from the property during the FBI’s third examination of the property.

This latest search took place on February 6, with at least a dozen vehicles descending on Nancy’s home throughout the day, including forensics teams, FBI agents, and sheriff’s deputies.
And while no information has been shared about the situation surrounding the search, it came hours after Nancy’s supposed kidnappers sent a second ransom note to Tucson news outlet KOLD.
The network, along with TMZ, was first sent a letter on February 3, with authorities confirming they are treating it as a “serious lead.” However, the authenticity of the notes has not yet been confirmed publicly.
According to KOLD, the new letter did not make ransom demands nor provide proof of life, but the previous one demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin in exchange for Nancy, with the final deadline being Monday, February 9.
On Friday, February 6, Sheriff Chris Nanos of the Pima County Sheriff’s Office shared more details about the investigation with the public, saying he believes Nancy is “still alive.”
“What I believe is that Nancy was removed from her home against her will, and that we need to find her. That’s what I believe. She’s still alive,” Sheriff Nanos explained. “I believe that I have no choice until something shows me, a piece of physical evidence shows me that that’s different.”
Continuing, the law enforcement official told reporters that deputies had spoken to Nancy’s landscaping crew, pool maintenance workers, her housekeeper, and an Uber driver who took her to her daughter Annie’s house hours before she disappeared.
“We’ve talked. They’ve all been very cooperative. They provided certain information that was helpful to us,” Sheriff Nanos stated.
Additionally, a “vehicle of interest” had been identified in the case and was believed to have been seen at a Circle K convenience store near Tucson. However, it is still unclear how this car relates to the investigation.
