Patriots players share their favorite Cardi B song
Ahead of Super Bowl LX, Patriots players share their favorite Cardi B song.
Cardi B took her diss record “Pretty & Petty” to another level during the opening night of her “Little Miss Drama Tour”.
While performing the song in Palm Desert, California, on Feb. 11, Cardi B rapped the opening line: “Name five Bia songs, gun pointing to your head.” She then looks at the crowd during a brief pause before she continues, “Bow! I’m dead.”
Widely circulated videos show the crowd cheering during the prolonged silence, and Cardi B’s dancers dropping to the ground after a boom sound effect.
Fans on social media compared the Bronx, New York, rapper’s segment to Beyoncé‘s “mute challenge,” which became a fixture at her concerts while performing “Energy” during the “Renaissance” era. Even Cardi B was shown participating in the challenge in the 2023 concert film “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé”.
BIA responds to tour footage
The beef between Cardi B and BIA stems from both of the rappers sampling Missy Elliot’s smash hit “She’s a (Expletive),” with BIA releasing her song first.
Soon, fans online began likening Cardi B’s song and videos to BIA’s work. It prompted shady online posts and X posts between the two rappers. The conflict later escalated into subliminal messages in songs.
On Thursday, Feb. 12, BIA reacted to Cardi B’s tour videos in an X thread: “Can u name someone with more bms than receiving yards? I can! and I know that… ykwnvm.”
The “Whole Lotta Money” rapper appears to be referring to Cardi B’s most recent love interest, NFL New England Patriots player Stefon Diggs, who just lost the Super Bowl. They welcomed a son together last year.
