Looking for the best new theme park attractions in the country? Many of them are right here in Ohio.
Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, is featured twice on USA TODAY’s 10Best list of the best new theme park attractions.
One of the attractions featured is the embattled Siren’s Curse roller coaster.
Billed as the tallest, fastest and longest “tilt” roller coaster in America, featuring a 160-foot lift hill and 90-degree tilt, Siren’s Curse opened at Cedar Point this summer. It was subsequently held back by frequent breakdowns and evacuations, spun positively as a sign that the ride’s safety systems were performing exactly as intended.
It was a tough first year for Siren’s Curse, with amusement park fans perhaps wondering if the coaster had been cursed by sirens itself, but that wasn’t enough to hold it back from the 10Best ranking.
