Featuring 150-200+ Black women artists, The Black Girl Art Show returns to the Brooklyn Navy Yard for a second year on March 28.
Showcasing diverse art forms including painting, photography, and digital art, the event is one of the largest global celebrations of Black women artists. Visitors will experience art, culture, and community with a curated collection of powerful, thought-provoking work alongside music and a marketplace of Black-owned brands.
Guests can expect an inspiring, high energy celebration that feels equal parts art gallery, cultural gathering, and creative recharge.
Founded in Atlanta in 2019 by curator Joshua Love, the show began as a response to the lack of representation for Black women in the arts. Since then, it’s grown into a national platform, touring over 25 cities and connecting more than 5,000 artists to 72,000+ attendees. In 2020, the vision expanded with the launch of Black Boy Art Show, a complementary exhibition uplifting the work of Black men artists across the country.
Together, these two shows have built an ecosystem for creative expression and economic opportunity—generating over $10 million in revenue for artists to date. Beyond the numbers, they’ve created a space where Black artists are seen, celebrated, and supported on their own terms.
