Fans of award-winning reality competition series The Traitors have known for a while now that a celebrity edition was on the way.
However, it has been a difficult wait for many not knowing when it would actually make its way onto our screens. Now, the broadcaster has finally shared the start date for the unique season.
Not only that but we’ve been given the first glimpse of the contestants sat around the Round Table. They are joined by host Claudia Winkleman who tells them that their ‘glamourous lives count for nothing here’ and that ‘most of you will be murdered’.
The celebrities try to hold their best poker faces as they prepare to play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust. But when does The Celebrity Traitors begin? Who is taking part and is there a cash prize? Here’s all you need to know.

When does Celebrity Traitors start and when will new episodes release?
BBC are making a couple slight changes for the first celebrity edition of The Traitors. However, it’s definitely not all bad news for viewers as the first instalment will be a slightly extended episode.
The Celebrity Traitors will launch on Wednesday, October 8 at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer with a 70 minute episode. Episodes will air two nights a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays, at 9pm.
This is different from the civilian version which would air three times a week.
There are expected to be nine episodes in total. All of which will last 60 minutes. That means that the finale will be expected to air on November 5.

Who is taking part in Celebrity Traitors and what is the prize?
More than a dozen famous faces are confirmed so far as part of the Celebrity Traitors line-up. We’re yet to find out which of the 19 will be Faithful, and how many will be dubbed as Traitors.
These include names from the world of comedy, film, television, music, sport and more. They will be competing for the chance of winning a cash prize up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

Is Traitors Uncloaked returning?

For those who can’t get enough of The Traitors, the show’s companion video podcast is also returning for the celebrity version. Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked will air on BBC Two immediately after the main series and will also be available on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer.
Host Ed Gamble returns to present and will be joined by the celebrities and players from previous series to analyse and react to developments in the castle.
When is The Traitors coming back?
The BBC have confirmed that the fourth series of the usual Traitors series is coming sometime in 2026. Not only this but a fifth instalment is also slated for production and applications for participants are open now.
