The star has opened up about his one regret from Celebs Go Dating – and it’s nothing to do with the romance he found on the E4 show
Former Celebs Go Dating participant Stephen Webb has revealed his sole regret following his appearance on the dating programme in 2024.
The television personality experienced several disappointing dates before discovering chemistry with David from Guernsey. The pair departed the series together, but separated merely weeks after making their relationship public.
While Stephen didn’t discover “The One” on the Channel 4 programme, there’s only one aspect he would alter about his time on the show.
“I regret some of the outfits,” he told Heart Bingo Online. “There was this sort of like schoolboy at the bottom, granddad at the top kind of combo that I didn’t really pull it off. Some of the outfits were a bit dodgy.”
The Gogglebox legend continued: “I regret those, but I don’t regret going on Celebs Go Dating,” reports OK!.
“It definitely was a learning curve because I’d gone into that, I’d just recently split up with my husband, long-term relationship, marriage, I lost my mum and dad, so I was in a fairly vulnerable state, and I think going part part of that show, meeting new people and getting the advice from Paul [C Brunson] and Anna [Williamson] and Tara [Suwinyattichaiporn], it helped.”
He added: “I think it was all part of that. I look back fondly on it because it involves some of the saddest moments in my life as well that I was dealing with when I went on that show, But we’re through the other end, and no, I don’t regret any of it! I got paid a lot of money for it too!”
Stephen was famously married to fellow TV sofa critic Daniel Lustig for six years, and they were together for a total of 12 years.
He appeared on Celebs Go Dating hoping to find romance following their separation.
The current series of the dating programme is broadcasting on E4, with seven fresh celebrity participants entrusting their romantic futures to the show’s specialists.
Taking part are rugby player James Haskell, MAFS participant Lucinda Light, Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan, Love Island’s Gabby Allen, rapper Professor Green, content creator PK Humble and television personality David Potts.
As usual, relationship experts Paul C. Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn are back to provide candid guidance.
Celebs Go Dating continues on E4 tonight at 9pm
