Popstar Olivia Rodrigo has scored her fourth UK number one single, according to the Official Charts Company.
The 23-year topped the leader board with her brand new song, Drop Dead, the first single from her upcoming You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love album which will be released in June.
The single was released along with its accompanying music video, which features the star dancing and running around The Palace of Versailles.
The track marks her fourth time at the top of the singles charts and follows on from 2023’s Vampire and 2021’s Driver’s Licence and Good 4 U.
The song knocked Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s hit Rein Me In to number two after five consecutive weeks at the summit.
Meanwhile Justin Bieber’s Beauty And A Beat, which features Nicki Minaj, jumped to third place in the UK charts following his viral headline set at Coachella music festival.
Bieber, 32, was seen performing a number of his hit songs at the festival in California in a stripped down performance that featured him and his laptop on stage.
His set also bumped his song Daisies to number five in the charts with Tame Impala’s Dracula at number four.
Welsh metal band Skindred were celebrating after going to the top of the albums chart with You Got This, describing themselves as the “first Welsh Ragga Metal Punk band from Newport to hit number one”.
The trio had been neck-and-neck with singer Jessie Ware all week, with both acts calling on their fans to help push their record to the top spot.
Marking their first number one album, the band had previously seen success with Smile, which narrowly missed out on the number one spot in 2023.
Speaking to Official Charts, the three-piece said: “All of us in the band are absolutely blown away by the amazing reaction and support to our new album.
“We want to say thank you to everyone that came out this week to buy a copy, especially all of those in our extended family in the rock and metal communities.”
They also send their congratulations to Ware for her album Superbloom, which finished the week at number two.
The top five albums chart is completed by Dean’s The Art Of Loving at three, Zayn’s latest offering Konnakol at four, and Michael Jackson’s The Essential collection in fifth place – a rise through the charts which is thought to be down to the cinematic release of the new biopic Michael this week.
