Celeste Barber has finally broken her silence on her split from her husband, Api Robin, weeks after news of their shock separation sent fans into a spin.
The 43-year-old Aussie comedian took to Instagram on Tuesday to promote her makeup brand and alluded to the breakup by joking that she was only “going to talk about the mascara” but then ended the short clip by leaning close to the camera and whispering a message of gratitude to her followers.
“Thank you for all your lovely messages. I really appreciate it. Thank you.”
Along with the short video on her story, she also posted a carousel of photos after being unusually quiet on social media for the past few months following the news of the split.
The selection of photos was captioned simply: “Tour starts next month. Tix celestebarber.com.”
The post was fronted by a selfie of Barber on a bike wearing a Prada bag, followed by pictures of flowers, a video of her exercise routine, her makeup brand, a screenshot of the messages icon with 82 unanswered messages, a screenshot of Harry Styles’ song ‘Are You Listening Yet’, ending with a tour poster of her ‘Backup Dancer’ Europe and UK tour which commences in April.
Api Robin confirmed the pair had called time on their 12-year marriage the day before Valentine’s Day, taking to Instagram with a sombre update.
“The past few months have been incredibly challenging and deeply heartbreaking for us both,” he wrote in a post titled ‘Heavy hearts.’
“After a lot of reflection, we’ve made the decision to separate. There is still love and respect between us, but we’re at capacity… and we’ve realised we may want different things,” he said.
While the news was a shock to many, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that in late 2025 and early 2026 the couple’s socials were entirely absent of each other — both sharing their last photo together in early November 2025.
The last post came when Barber’s US tour came to an end and the couple jetted back home to Australia. She shared a selection of photos and videos from the trip on November 1, showing the pair looking happier than ever as they attended events and sat smiling on a train.
The following day, Robin shared a similar post that appeared to be even more loved-up as he said he was “so proud” of his wife.
Since then, neither has featured on the other’s on social media , with Robin even changing his bio from “hot husband” — the nickname Barber affectionately referred to him as in her sketches — to “formerly hot husband.”
The couple share two sons named Lou Robin and Buddy Robin, while Api has two daughters from a previous marriage.
