Based on the viral manga and social media character phenomenon, Chainsmoker Cat has attracted considerable attention for its unusual premise centered on a cigarette-smoking stray cat navigating a gritty yet comedic urban world.
The newly released trailer highlights the series’ blend of deadpan humor, slice-of-life storytelling and surreal visual comedy. The footage introduces viewers to several key characters while emphasizing the rough-edged city setting that serves as the backdrop for the story. Crunchyroll confirmed that Japanese rock band Wasureranneyo will perform the anime’s opening theme song, titled “Nanmonee.”
