Chappell Roan Reacts To Realizing Her Outfit Is A Thong

Chappell Roan may be known for her edgy style, but she recently found herself caught off-guard by the boldness of her own outfit.

“Oh my God, I forgot my bottom was just a thong,” she told the crowd, as seen in a TikTok clip shared by StubHub. “I look up at the screen and see my ass. I was like, it’s gone.”

As it turns out, Roan’s look was intentional, and she quickly launched into her next song as the audience roared its approval.

Roan, 27, is wrapping her breakout year on her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things Tour. The trek kicked off in Warsaw, Poland, on May 30 and is currently set to wrap on Nov. 14 in Mexico City.

In February, the Missouri native won her first Grammy Award for Best New Artist, hot off the success of her debut studio album, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” which features the smash singles “Hot to Go!” and “Pink Pony Club.”

True to form, the famously outspoken singer-songwriter used her Grammy acceptance speech to urge the “most powerful people in music,” such as record label executives, to commit to offering “a livable wage and health care, especially to developing artists,” in the future.

“Like most people, I had a difficult time finding a job in the pandemic and could not afford health insurance,” she said. “It was so devastating to feel so committed to my art and feel so betrayed by the system and so dehumanized to not have health care. And if my label would have prioritized artists’ health, I could have been provided care by a company I was giving everything to.”

She went on to note: “So record labels need to treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protection. Labels, we got you, but do you got us?”
