Sami Sheen, who has been estranged from her father, Charlie Sheen, in recent years, posted a tearful TikTok in response to Netflix’s new documentary, aka Charlie Sheen.
“I didn’t know I was the reason he got sober,” the 21-year-old wrote in text across the September 11 video, in which she gazed silently at the camera. She captioned the clip, “Honestly a 10/10 documentary.”

Charlie, 60, recounted the pivotal incident in both the film and his new memoir, The Book of Sheen. He described how in 2017, when Sami was 13, she called asking where he was after he forgot an appointment he was supposed to drive her to. At the time, he admitted, he was on his “third” coffee and whiskey of the morning.
The former Two and a Half Men star asked a family friend to drive him. “On the drive back to my house, Sam was very quiet,” he wrote. “I didn’t need to be clairvoyant to know exactly what she was thinking. Why is Dad not driving—again? When will Dad ever return? I miss him.”
Charlie added that the moment pushed him to get sober, and he has remained that way ever since. “Life comes down to doers and talkers, and there was really nothing left for me to say,” he wrote. “It was time to shut the f*** up and get busy doing. Sam wasn’t my final straw; she was my first harvest.”

The two remain estranged, with Charlie recently telling Good Morning America he doesn’t “really know” what led to their rift.
But Sami explained on the Casual Chaos podcast in April that it started after he failed to reach out following her 2024 nose surgery. She said their text exchanges escalated until she blocked his number, email, and eventually, a new phone he used to contact her on Christmas.
Charlie also shares daughter Lola Sheen, 20, with ex-wife Denise Richards, twins Bob and Max Sheen, 16, with ex Brooke Mueller, and daughter Cassandra Estevez, 40, with Paula Profit.
