KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A young actor from East Tennessee appeared in the debut of a highly-anticipated new ABC show on Thursday.
Nine-year-old Sawyer Ruth Johnson appeared in the series premiere of “9-1-1: Nashville” on Thursday.

It’s not the first major network acting credit for Johnson. She appeared in an episode of the popular HBO series “The Righteous Gemstones” and the HBO original documentary “Alabama Snake,” according to IMDb.
“9-1-1: Nashville” is the second spin-off of the popular “9-1-1” franchise, following “9-1-1: Lone Star.” The main cast includes Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and LeAnn Rimes. Country star Kane Brown also appeared as a guest star in the inaugural episode.

An episode of “9-1-1: Nashville” is set to be filmed in Knoxville later this fall.
