Chris Pine gets honest about future of the ‘Star Trek’
Chris Pine has recently reflected on the future of the Star Trek franchise.
The actor, who played Captain Kirk in three Star Trek movies between 2009 and 2016, was asked to share his views on Paramount’s new leadership at the Variety Studio presented by Audible.
He replied, “You probably know more than I do.”
It is pertinent to mention that Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the duo behind the Chris-starring Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves movies, were reportedly writing, producing and directing a new Star Trek movie.
Interestingly, the new movie will not feature the Wonder Woman actor because it’s not a continuation of the J.J. Abrams-led reboot of the series.
During the interview at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, Chris also gave one valuable advice to new Paramount bosses with regards to Star Trek movie.
“Have fun, good luck, live long and prosper,” suggested the Just My Luck actor.
Meanwhile, Chris attended the festival for his new romance drama, Carousel, along with his co-star Jenny Slate and director Rachel Lambert.
The American actor, who plays the role of a single father in the latest movie, talked about his character, adding, “Many a male character in film and in life, there is a difficulty for men to communicate feelings with clarity. He struggles with that.”
