Chrissy Metz is flexing a different muscle with her latest project.
Hot on the heels of her TV movie Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story and Netflix’s hit The Hunting Wives, Metz is leaning into her music with a new collaboration featuring Ty Herndon.
“Available everywhere now! My brand new duet with the amazing @chrissymetz,” the Grammy-nominated singer captioned his update.
Herndon and Metz join forces in the reimagined version of “She Wants To Be Wanted Again,” which first appeared as a single on his 1996 sophomore album, Living In a Moment. The country star revealed that the song “is about longing, second chances, and the simple human need to be truly seen.”
He turned his attention to his duet partner, confessing, “I’m so honored that Chrissy lent her gorgeous voice to help me bring it to a whole new generation of listeners.”
“Y’all take a listen and let us know what you think in the comments!” he concluded, as the fans did just that.
“Great song. Beautiful blend of your voices,” one fan wrote, as another added, “Knocked it out of the park . Both of you ❤️❤️.”
“It’s beautiful, definitely a hit.🎶🎶” and “Wow! Chills! ❤️” others added, as someone praised their vocals, exclaiming, “You two sound amazing!!!!!🎉🙌 congrats!”
One paid paid the duo a huge compliment, stating, “This reminds me of 90’s country and I am here for it. Great, both of you!”
“She Wants To Be Wanted Again” is the third single from Herndon’s upcoming double album titled “THIRTY.”

After the original’s release in the ’90s, it climbed to the Top 30, peaking at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
While Metz is best known for her work on-screen, her musical efforts are equally impressive.
Before appearing on This Is Us, she was eager to make a career in the music industry, auditioning for American Idol, then airing on Fox, with the Dreamgirls single, “Heavy Heavy,” in 2007.
After being cast in the critically acclaimed NBC drama, Metz was allowed to marry singing and acting, lending her vocals to her character Kate Pearson, revealing in an interview with PEOPLE at the time that show creator Dan Fogelman was “writing my dream life,” adding, “I enjoy singing very much.”
In 2019, she made her live TV debut at the ACM Awards for a group collaboration on the single “I’m Standing With You” from her movie Breakthrough alongside country’s biggest stars, including Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, MickeyGuyton and Maddie & Tae.
