Former Prince Andrew has been seen at his first #royal family event since King Charles removed his HRH style and prince title, arriving at St James’s Palace in London for the christening of his granddaughter, Athena.
The private service took place at the Chapel Royal on Friday 12 December 2025, with Andrew arriving by car via a side entrance away from waiting media. Athena is the second child of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Guests included Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, and singer James Blunt with Sofia Wellesley. No senior working royals were reported to be present.
Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 and has faced longstanding allegations linked to Jeffrey Epstein, which he denies. He reached a settlement in a US civil case in 2022. US lawmakers have also criticised him after he missed a deadline to respond to a request for an interview about Epstein.
