Christina Applegate is officially on Instagram. The actress shared her very first post on the platform on Friday, Oct. 17.
“Hi everyone, Christina here,” she captioned the post. “If you told me a year ago that I’d be on Instagram, I would have said, F*** off! But here I am, so I’m going to do it my way. Real, raw, honest. Above is my favorite picture of myself lately. (Apologies for the half tuck of the shirt.) It was taken by my lifelong friend @kevingrackle, in my backyard with the chimes that remind me of my mother and a moon necklace from a dear witchy friend.”
Hours later, Applegate took to her Instagram Stories to thank fans for their love and support. She said that she’s read through the comments on her first post and expressed gratitude to her fans. She concluded by saying that she would be sharing “the good, the bad, the ugly, and the in between.”
Applegate, 54, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021. The “Dead to Me” star did indeed receive a great deal of love on her very first IG post. The comments quickly filled with people who are so happy to see her on the platform.
“I want you to know…I was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in March, a neuromuscular autoimmune disease. You have been a guiding force for me. Thank you,” one person wrote.
“You’re one of the most courageous people I know Christina, you and Michael J Fox are the best!” someone else said.
“Hello my MS sister. I’d like to thank you and Jamie Lynn for helping me through my first 2 years of MS. You are both truly inspiring. Thanks for helping me deal with my diagnosis with pomp and snark and all things fabulous. Never change,” a third comment read.
“Stoked to see you here! Love you so much! P.S. the half-tuck is a vibe,” a fourth Instagram user added.
