Emmy winner Claire Danes filmed in Westchester last week.
Danes, who most recently starred in Netflix’s “The Beast in Me,” was shooting scenes Jan. 14 and 15 in Yonkers and Larchmont for the upcoming drama series “The Spot.”
The Hulu show, which also stars Ewan McGregor, is expected to be released on Hulu in the fall. According to Deadline, Danes plays a successful surgeon whose school teacher husband (McGregor) begins to suspect she might be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death.
Danes filmed at Yonkers City Hall and posed for photos with city employees. Also on hand in Yonkers: creator and showrunner Ed Solomon along with cast members Daveed Diggs and Dascha Polanco. The drama, produced by A24, also filmed at Bonnie Brier Country Club on the Scarsdale/Larchmont border and in the area around Bonnie Way as well as at a house on Park Hill Lane in Larchmont, according to The Larchmont Loop.
Filming remains strong in Westchester, particularly in Yonkers, where Mayor Mike Spano has championed the city as a film-friendly destination under the “Hollywood on Hudson” initiative. City Hall has been used repeatedly as a filming location for productions such as “Law & Order: SVU,” “Daredevil: Born Again,” and “Elsbeth.”
Other shows filmed in the county include:
- “The Diplomat” (Netflix), which filmed at the Sundial Farm in Ossining.
- “The Gilded Age” (HBO Max), which filmed at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, Manhattanville College in Purchase, and the historic Jacob Purdy House in White Plains.
- “Poker Face” (Peacock), which filmed at The Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington and locations in Somers and Tarrytown.
- “Severance” (Apple TV+), which filmed at Pleasantville’s Usonia community, Trinity Lutheran Church in White Plains, and wooded areas throughout central Westchester.
