Former Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman has shared a teaser for her new BBC chat show, with the series start date and first celebrity guests now confirmed
Claudia Winkleman has declared she’s ‘prepared’ as a preview for her new BBC chat show demonstrates the star’s willingness to poke fun at herself as she is seen smearing her face with orange paint.
The 32-second snippet was unveiled as the commencement date of the series was confirmed, and the BBC announced that her inaugural guests will be Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum, actresses Vanessa Williams and Jennifer Saunders, and comedian Tom Allen.
They will accompany the former Strictly Come Dancing presenter on the sofa for the first episode of the series on Friday, March 13.
In the footage, Claudia – recognisable by her signature long dark fringe, heavily lined eyes and bronzed complexion – stirs what seems to be a large tub of bright orange paint with a paintbrush.
“She gazes directly into the camera and says “Yeah”, followed by a pause, then adds: “It’s just still not orange enough.”

She continues: “Hi, it’s Claude here. I have a new show. I am really getting prepared. They want me to tell you it starts on Friday the 13th. Well, I’ve had a good run.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
She then applies a broad stripe of orange paint on her cheek with the paintbrush, referencing her fondness for a tan, and adds: “Oh yeah. I’m ready.”
Alongside the teaser on Instagram, the BBC posted: “Foundation at the ready… Friday nights just got a lot more Claudia [heart emoji]. Watch #TheClaudiaWinklemanShow on #iPlayer from Fri 13 March at 10:40pm.
“The Claudia Winkleman Show: A brand-new series packed with celebrity guests, hilarious stories and Claudia’s trademark warmth and wit – all in front of a live studio audience. Hollywood giant Jeff Goldblum, actress Vanessa Williams, national treasure Jennifer Saunders and comedian Tom Allen join Claudia on the sofa for the first episode.”
Claudia, who recently departed from presenting Strictly after 15 years, including 11 years co-hosting the main programme alongside Tess Daly, has most recently fronted hit series The Traitors, whilst her new show, which will be recorded before a live studio audience, will feature Winkleman interviewing prominent figures each week.
Claudia’s forthcoming project was announced in December, following her emotional departure from Strictly. The 53 year old commented in a statement at the time: “I can’t quite believe it and I’m incredibly grateful to the BBC for this amazing opportunity. I’m obviously going to be awful, that goes without saying, but I’m over the moon they’re letting me try!”.
The Claudia Winkleman Show will air on Friday, March 13
