In the 18 years since the Marvel Cinematic Universe officially launched with Iron Man, countless performers have come and gone, with some departures being less glamorous than others. Despite the impressive track record of Marvel Studios, back in 2023, they released the long-anticipated adaptation of their Secret Invasion event, in which shape-shifting Skrulls had infiltrated all corners of the globe. Despite the anticipation, the series scored the worst reviews of an MCU TV series, sitting at only 53% positive on aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. Making the series even more controversial is that it saw Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill killed off, after debuting in 2012’s The Avengers.
