Loose Women star Coleen Nolan shared an update on her love life while reflecting on her time on the Channel 4 series Celebs Go Dating
Coleen Nolan has revealed her mixed feelings about her time on Celebs Go Dating and shared her honest thoughts about her fellow co-stars. The 61-year-old joined the programme hoping to find romance once more after two unsuccessful marriages and the end of her most recent public relationship in 2023.
While agents Paul C Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn attempted to help her secure a suitable partner, the Loose Women panellist confessed she left the programme without finding love.
Nevertheless, she expressed admiration for both the agents and her co-stars – though she playfully described the show’s narrator, Rob Beckett, as “vicious”.
Chatting to her son Shane and daughter Ciara on their Nolans Uncensored podcast, she reflected on the experience, saying: “I’ve got to say, I’ve never had so much fun doing a TV show as I have on Celebs Go Dating.
“It’s been one of the best jobs I’ve ever done because we’ve laughed and everyone has been amazing. This isn’t me being showbiz, you’d know I’d go, ‘There’s one that’s a d**k’. There isn’t, there isn’t one k**b in it.”
Coleen went on to describe the series as “one of the hardest” she has participated in due to the exhausting 14 to 15-hour shooting schedules, yet still enjoyed “the best time” alongside her co-stars.
“Unfortunately, the dating side of it has been an absolute disaster for me,” she added. In response, her son joked: “I can’t wait for Rob Beckett to take the p**s out of you,” to which she replied: “Ah, I can’t. He does the narration over it and he’s vicious. But yeah [with the dating], it’s just not happened for me.
“And then the one time when I thought, ‘Oh I had a great date’, he got rid of me. I think we both knew it was a friendship thing.
“But here’s my issue, every date they’ve got me is [from] Essex, I live in bl***y Staffordshire. It’s just too far, so that’s been an issue but there’s just no one with that [romantic spark].”
Full of praise for the programme’s specialists, she concluded: “But the agents, the therapy has been absolutely brilliant and I think from the start to the end, I’ve massively changed.”
While promoting the show, Coleen admitted her romantic life has been “non-existent” since parting ways with her last known partner, Michael Jones, in 2023.
She has walked down the aisle twice – firstly with Shane Richie from 1990 to 1999, and subsequently with Ray Fensome, to whom she was married for 11 years between 2007 and 2018.
Opening up about life following her most recent split, she said: “I’ve been out on a few dates as far as dating apps, and they’ve been lovely. And actually, I’ve stayed friends with them. That’s my issue. I stay friends with everyone. I’m definitely not looking for another friend. So yeah, it’s not been bad.
“The thing is, I’m not desperate. I’m not, “Oh, my God. I’ve got to meet someone.” Would I like to meet someone? Absolutely. That would be lovely.”
