Comedy to open at Astor Street

The Astor Street Opry Co. opens a comedy, “The Hallelujah Girls,” featuring behind-the-scenes action at a Southern day spa, at the Playhouse at 129 W. Bond St., in Astoria Dec. 5. Doors open 6:30 p.m. and the show is 7 p.m.
Admission is $15, online at www.asocplay.com or at the door.
Performances continue 7 p.m. Dec 6, 12, 20 and 21.
A dinner theater performance with $30 tickets will be staged 6 p.m. Dec. 13. Seating is limited. The only matinee will be 2 p.m. Dec. 14 with $20 tickets. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
The show features the “feisty females” of a small town in Georgia who decide to shake up their lives. The action takes place in Spa-dee-dah, an abandoned church turned day spa where a group of friends gathers on Friday afternoons.
